The Journey

Know all about how it all started, where all Mouli has performed and what all has she achieved.

The Beginning

Coming from a musical family, where her mother used to be a classical Sitar artist, whose Guru was Mouli’s grandfather Ramkrishna Chakraborty, who was the Gurubhai (student under the same Guru) of Sitar Maestro Late Pandit Ravi Shankar Ji. With all this background, doubtless that music was etched into her veins.

How it Started

Mouli started learning vocal Hindusthani classical music from the age of 3 from her mother and her first public performance was at the age of 5. She then started learning from Smt. Gowri Dasgupta. Until the age of 12, she had finished learning the basics and first level of classical music and was capable of performing professionally Live on stage.

The Achievements
The biggest turning point in life was when Mouli shifted from Chennai to Kolkata where she met her Guruji Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty for the first time. Since then her rigorous training began under him for 12 years. She learnt various forms of Indian Classical Music from him which includes Kheyal, Thumri, partly Dhrupad and so on.
